Restaurant of the month...

Anyone interested in some good German food needs to head to Prosperity, SC. Gausthaus zur Elli is located in the heart of downtown on Main St. The proprietor, Wendy, is a native German who cooks up some of the best schnitzel on this side of the Atlantic. What's more, she makes you feel like you're in her kitchen sharing a meal with her at home. Don't look for any American domestic beer and wine here - she serves only German brew and vino. Get the red cabbage - it melts in your mouth. Prosperity is just off of I-26, so if you're traveling between Charleston, SC and Greenville/Spartanburg, SC, it's worth your time to stop in. Monday through Saturday evenings until 9:00pm. Visa/MC accepted.

Welcome to H,G, and TP!

This is a venue for those who want to rant about what ails them. Politicos? Great. Apologists? Wonderful. Military strategists? Sweet. Academics? Sure. As someone who has served in Iraq, I welcome observations about the developments in that region of the world. As someone who teaches at the college level, I welcome posts about academia and the inherent ridiculousness of paying such large sums of money for a college education these days. Worth it? Doubtful. Practical? Never.

What's really important now-a-days? How long will Paris Hilton stay in jail? Is Nicole Richie pregnant? Why doesn't Tom Sizemore stay off the happy juice? These are the questions we ask as folks are starving in Tanzania, genocide continues unchecked in Sudan, and Americans continue to rant about fuel prices while driving insanely huge Hummers.

Welcome to the circus!
